We thank and recognize our members at Avalon in Halifax, NS who work to support people who have experienced gender-based and sexualized violence.

SHARE OUR STORY

On December 6, 1989, 14 women at Polytechnique Montréal were murdered in a violent act of misogyny. 30 years later, we are reminded that gender-based violence is still prevalent in educational institutions, in domestic spaces, and in workplaces.

We thank and recognize our members at Avalon in Halifax, NS who work to support people who have experienced gender-based and sexualized violence, and all workers who are committed to eliminating sexualized violence in our communities. We honour all victims and survivors of gender-based violence, especially women and marginalized genders and identities who show up every day despite existing in a patriarchal, capitalist system.
